Our School Ethos and Values

Mission Statement

St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery is a close‑knit Catholic family of faith, inspired by the teachings of Christ. We aim to create a loving, inclusive environment where every member of our community lives out our core C.I.R.C.L.E. values: Church, Independence, Resilience, Care, Learning and Enjoyment.

Guided by these values, we nurture each child as a unique individual, helping them grow in confidence and reach their full God‑given potential in an ever‑changing world.

Our Vision

For Our Children

We provide a rich, broad and balanced curriculum that develops the whole child—academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. We want every pupil to:

  • Feel safe, valued, and supported
  • Enjoy memorable learning experiences in and beyond the classroom
  • Develop independence, curiosity and a strong sense of self
  • Flourish as confident, compassionate young people

For Our Staff

We strive for excellence by building strong relationships grounded in mutual respect and high expectations. Staff share expertise, reflect on their practice, and support one another so that every child receives the highest standard of education. We nurture each child’s unique needs, gifts and potential.

For Our Parents and Carers

We value parents as partners in their child’s education. We aim to build warm, trusting and respectful relationships, ensuring communication is open and supportive. Together, we share responsibility for the wellbeing, faith formation, and educational success of every child.

For Our Governors

Governors play an active role within our community. Through training, presence and purposeful challenge, they support and guide the school to ensure the best outcomes for pupils and families.

St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery prides itself in being an “open hearted” community that loves and supports one another as individuals created by Christ; working collaboratively with parents, staff and governors to provide an inclusive learning environment for all of our children.

 C.I.R.C.L.E. Values

Our Catholic ethos underpins all that we do. Through our C.I.R.C.L.E. values, we strive to:

  • Support pupils to develop social, emotional and self‑discipline skills
  • Build strong partnerships between home, school and parish
  • Celebrate achievement together
  • Deliver a creative, inspiring and challenging curriculum
  • Create an environment in which every child can thrive and reach their full potential

Our Values in Action
