Welcome to St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery
At St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery, we are proud to be a warm, caring, and inclusive school community rooted in the teachings of Christ. Guided by our strong Catholic ethos and our C.I.R.C.L.E values—Care, Independence, Resilience, Church, Learning and Enjoyment—we nurture the whole child: academically, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
We believe every child is a unique gift from God, and we work in close partnership with families to ensure that each pupil is supported, challenged and celebrated throughout their learning journey.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a safe, inspiring and faith‑filled environment where all pupils can grow in confidence and fulfil their God‑given potential. We strive to ensure that every child is encouraged to explore their talents, develop resilience, and flourish as independent learners ready for the world ahead.
Our Vision
At St Michael’s, we aim to provide:
- A rich, broad and ambitious curriculum
- High‑quality teaching that supports and challenges every learner
- Outstanding pastoral care centred on wellbeing and personal growth
- Strong links with our parish, families and wider community
- A culture of mutual respect, joy and spiritual development
We want our children to enjoy memorable experiences, develop a love of learning, and grow into compassionate, confident individuals.
A Faith‑Filled, Inclusive Community
As part of the Archdiocese of Southwark, we work closely with our parish, St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, to support children’s spiritual development through liturgies, Mass, prayer and reflection.
Our staff and governors are dedicated to building a school community where every child is valued, respected and supported. We celebrate diversity and strive to ensure that all pupils—regardless of background or ability—can succeed.
High‑Quality Teaching and Learning
We provide a curriculum that is engaging, inspiring and designed to give every child the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to thrive. From academic achievement to creativity, sport, outdoor learning and the arts, we offer a wide range of experiences that enrich children’s development.
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
Children learn best when they feel safe, happy and supported. Our nurturing ethos ensures that pupils are listened to, cared for and guided through any challenges. We work closely with parents to ensure each child’s emotional needs are met and that they feel confident and secure.
Enrichment and Opportunities
From Forest School, sports and performing arts to clubs, workshops and educational visits, we provide exciting opportunities that build character, teamwork and resilience. We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom walls.
Working in Partnership
At St Michael’s, parents and carers are valued partners. We strive for open communication, strong relationships and shared ambition for every child’s success. Together, we build a community where pupils can flourish in all aspects of their development.
