Sports Premium

Sports Premium

At St Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery, we are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and ensuring that every child has access to high‑quality physical education, sport, and physical activity. The PE and Sports Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to help improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. This investment enables us to enhance opportunities for all pupils, increase participation, and embed physical activity as a positive and long‑lasting part of everyday school life.

We use our Sports Premium funding to strengthen our PE curriculum, develop staff expertise, extend extracurricular opportunities, and create vibrant, inclusive sporting experiences for children of all abilities. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil leaves St Michael’s with the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to enjoy sport and physical activity, both now and in the future.

We are proud of the sporting culture within our school and remain committed to using this funding effectively to improve physical development, mental wellbeing, teamwork, and resilience across our school community.

Below, you will find further information about how we use our Sports Premium funding and the impact it has on our pupils each year.
